TEXAS BLUE

I hated where I was from until the day I moved away. I missed it just barely two seconds too late. Now, I think I'll always miss Texas.

A Texas night

Air is heavy

Sky is light

Stars at night

Crickets come out

Big and bright

Breathe easy - taste the green

Wildflower healed highway

Breeze without a care

Slow down take a hike

Pedal up barefoot bike

The things I like

Were once the things I despised

Too Small

Too Big

Too Hot

Too Everything

Now it's not here

But there

I never knew

Growing up this way

Without a clue

I’d always be

Texas Blue

Texas bluebonnets don't grow in Utah, so I planted my own.
